Personalised, unique mentoring for children struggling with emotional regulation, stress, anxiety, negative thinking, friendships and/or low self-esteem.
The sessions are tailored to the way your child learns best, at a pace that suits your child most.
We spend more time practising and embedding the knowledge, tools and strategies that will best support your child with their biggest struggles.
We give more time to supporting you - the parent, to learn along with your child.

When you choose bespoke mentoring with Journey in Mind you get personalised support, unique to your child.
We start with a relaxed, discovery phone call where I can learn some background information about your child and their struggles.
From here I plan out a programme of sessions to best support your child moving forward.
A recommended minimum of 6 sessions is required in order to start seeing change and improvement.
Working closely with you and your child, building up trust and a strong partnership is so important to me and the work we do together!

MENTAL WELLBEING & NEUROSCIENCE
We have to learn how to look after our mind. We do this by understanding what contributes to a healthy brain and body (as one affects the other) and also by reflecting on our current habits/routines/lifestyle choices and whether these are contributing to good mental health - this is really important and something we should all do throughout our lives. Exploring ways to increase the "feel good' hormones of dopamine, serotonin, endorphins and oxytocin is also an important part of mental wellbeing education. As is setting goals and learning that your pursuit of good mental health is a life long journey. We must keep learning, growing and adapting.
MINDSET & NLP
Learning about mindset and the way you think, helps you to build resilience and feel more positive, motivated and confident. Your mindset comes from a set of beliefs that shape how you make sense of the world and yourself. It influences how you think, feel and behave in any given situation. As you encounter different situations, your mind triggers a specific mindset that then directly impacts your behaviour in that situation. This affects whether you succeed/thrive/cope - or not. We develop beliefs about ourselves and states of mind as we go through life being influenced by our surroundings - upbringing, experiences, relationships, societal views, the media. We unconsciously adopt beliefs, attitudes and ways of thinking that become part of who we are and the way we live our life. However, if these beliefs, attitudes and ways of thinking do not serve us well in life, we can find ourselves often feeling self-conscious, unhappy, dissatisfied, stressed or unmotivated, instead of thriving, succeeding and achieving. Mindset development explores the negative beliefs you have about yourself and seeks to change these with positive psychology and NLP (Neuro Lingustic Programming) techniques. You can learn how to develop a growth mindset and believe in the possibility of change and self-improvement.
MINDFULNESS
Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present in the moment, aware of where we are, what we're doing and how we are feeling. That might seem trivial but our mind has a great tendency to wonder off the matter at hand, become distracted, worry about things in the past or future, overthink things that have happened or might happen - and this can make us forgetful, absent minded, stressed and anxious.
Mindfulness is a quality that every human being already possesses - you just have to learn how to access it. Mindfulness starts in the body and breath - it's not just about what's going on in the mind.
Mindfulness practise teaches you be non-judgemental of yourself and others; it supports concentration and learning; it's a tool for managing stress and anxiety, and it's a way of life that creates self-awareness, acceptance, calm and control of the mind and body. Both science and experience demonstrate its positive benefits for our health, happiness, learning, work and relationships. With Journey In Mind we also practise self-compassion and gratitude.
